As an association, we expect our members to uphold the highest level of professionalism by adhering to our Standards and Code at all times. These standards and codes are essential to ensuring public safety and guiding the practice of Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs).

Failure to comply with either the published or profession-specific standards and ethics constitutes misconduct. It is the responsibility of each RMT to remain informed and compliant with the current regulations, as outlined in our Association By-Laws

While Alberta is actively working toward regulation for massage therapy, it is not yet a regulated industry like in British Columbia, Ontario, Newfoundland, and New Brunswick. This underscores the importance of associations like ours in certifying massage therapists and enforcing rigorous standards and ethical practices.
